What do we celebrate in February that’s red, pink and sweet? It’s not just Valentine’s Day, but National Cherry Month too – and the flavor of this sweet red berry has made its way into many of Dr Pepper Snapple Group's most popular brands. But what makes this flavor such a good addition to your favorite drinks?

According to our talented flavor scientists, cherry blends well with fruit flavors – that’s why several of our products have a combination of added flavors like the cherry and pomegranate in Snapple Lightly Sweetened Cherry Pomegranate Tea and Nantucket Nectars Pomegranate Cherry.

When looking to potentially add a cherry flavor to a product, we have to first identify which cherry flavor is most complementary. Candy, tart, sweet and black cherry are just a few of the different cherry flavorings that we try out in our products. For example, black cherry enhances the flavors in some of our sodas like Stewart’s Wishniak Black Cherry and IBC Black Cherry.
